Your Name

A poem about freedom

Thoughts of you
Never became
Actions
I mentioned your name
Distractions
And I became
A faction
Of the lame
Intentions
Never explained
Ideas
Were not entertained
Whatever
It’s all the same
Still
I mention your name.

Freedom
Could still be attained
But comfort
Has me in chains
Escape
And see what I gain
Or leave me
Bleeding and maimed
But laughing
And out of the game
A dream
Keeps me entertained.

Freedom
Never came
Action
But nothing attained
Distractions
And I remain
The faction
That whispers your name
Intentions
Still unexplained
Ideas
Still unentertained
Whatever
It’s all the same
Forever
I whisper your name.
