Why would you believe?

How can I believe?
Tell me who has sinned,
You all claim God is on your side
So where should we begin?

How can it be holy?
You kneel when you are lost,
Surrendering to some unknown
Regardless of the cost.

Why would you believe
You will be reborn,
If death leads to the garden
Would God have people mourn?

Why would all your days
Be only preparation,
For a place that’s better
If this is His creation?

Why would there be angels
To serve a spiteful lord,
Who demanded from his children
What they could not afford?

Why would I believe
When there is no token,
Of justice or of truth
From those whose vows are broken?

So I ask again
How can I believe
When all of grace and mercy
Long ago took leave?
