The Unchosen One

When riches finally came to me
All I’d known was poverty,
With brand new eyes I could not see
What to do or who to be.

My love at last reciprocated
But far too long anticipated,
A life unloved a man created
Who knew that others only hated.

Through dark seasons my soul did wilt
Anger fed on blood you spilt,
My kingdom by your lies is built
And all of you deny your guilt.

Long ago it had begun
Now you shall know what I become,
All your deeds are not undone
And I am the unchosen one.
