The best workout you’ve never had
How do you rate a good workout? Is it one that makes your muscles feel like they’ve been hit by a million pieces of tiny shrapnel the next day, is it one that gets your heart beating like a bass drum on fast forward, or maybe you need to be breathing so hard that you know your body is screaming for oxygen and you’re developing the respiratory fitness of a superhero? Maybe you go by efficiency. Better if you can burn calories faster right?
What about location and ease of execution ? Do you give up at the thought of having to drive to the gym? Or is it cycling that gets in your way, flat tyre?Maybe you can walk there, but its too hot, or too cold, or maybe the hailstorm is the problem. And besides, when you get to the gym its so busy, you wait so long between exercises that your workout intensity is reduced to the point where it’s not worth it.
Look outside, the weather’s now perfect, the roads are empty, you’ve found a bicycle pump, and your gym app tells you its not busy right now. Perfect!
But hang on, have you seen that huge spot, right in the middle of your forehead? You can’t go out like that. And even if you could, your gym gear smells like it’s just served a life sentence. Damn.
Another workout missed.
