The morning after,

Unready now
As it begins.
Not long now
Another month,
My favorite day
That comes just once,
It incarnates
Those friends I’ve lost,
Without a thought

Then comes life
The scent of rain,
We promise all
Those things again,
Contracts signed,
With nobody,
A line for I,
A line for me.
By now we hear
Ambition call,
One quarter lost
And I’m a fool,
Three times as much
To spend again,
