Nearly Dids

All the things I couldn’t quite
Bring myself to act upon,
I was certain I would change
Until each of all those things was gone.

All the things that could have been
If I’d thought less and acted more,
Does it feel good or does it hurt
When all those things have closed the door.

My whole life seems to come back here
Not much has changed since we were kids,
Except it’s harder to admit
My whole life has been nearly dids.
