Mine

It’s easier for me
BecauseI pay less attention,
To the things and people
Who aren’t worth a mention.

Not because I haven’t cared
It’s not that I don’t see,
The things that seem important
Make no difference to me.

It’s not only in this place
It’s like this everywhere,
Whilst I complete this sentence
How do things appear?

I keep my own company
It’s difficult to read,
It’s easy because I’m aware
You don’t have what I need.

I’ve taken what I came for
The arrangement suits me fine,
I have to go elsewhere to have
The thing that must be mine.
