Like I’m watching a screen
The poem I wrote when I couldn’t write a poem
There’s nothing left
I thought I could just carry on,
I know, nothing lasts
Has it been that long?
Where did they come from
I mean, where in the first place?
They used to be everywhere,
But this is just empty space.
Isn’t it just living?
No, it’s actually being alive
So where do you find them?
I don’t get to decide.
It’s like I’m not in the picture
Like I’m watching a screen,
I can only see now,
Not what will or has been.
It’s like you’re not even there?
No, I’m there but but they’re not
Or if they’re there you don’t see them?
Or I saw and forgot.
So what's your plan then?
I’ll write anyway,
You can’t write about nothing
No, there’s always something to say.
