It’s only true inside your head
The outside you’ve interpreted,
What you swear you hear from me
Is nothing like what I have said.

The other person you describe
To whom you offer up your bribe,
Will I serve in penance for
The remedies that you prescribe?

Will I take heed of what I think?
I think I might submit and sink,
What do I love about this now
A few decisions from the brink?

A few more moments in the morgue
With bodies of what we adored,
The promises all passed away
And nothing else has been secured.

My indecision would confuse
If I don’t think I get to choose,
If I have no more faith in me
I have nothing else to lose.
