I see her in the water

That life is over
And I have this fallacy
A pile of old earth
Thrown on top of me.

The lines are imprecise
Scribbled and misplaced
Rainbows on a crumpled leaf
The outline of a face.

I see her in the water
A moon I cannot grasp
I come back to the shore
Where rivers drown the past.

I’ve forgotten where it is
I was there with her
Somewhere beside the water
The way we always were.
