Hi Russell. Thanks for the question. I perform one set per exercise. With the big multi joint movements, I will perform a warm up set with a lighter weight before the actual working set, which I take to failure.
Performing one all out set is not something that everybody can do straight away. Just like anything else, the ability to go all out like that is something that takes a bit of time to acquire.
Granted, doing three sets would make the workout a bit of a marathon. Could you try cutting down to two sets, and eventually one?
