God Give Me a Child

God give me a child
A child all my own,
A child who can sing
In the garden I have grown.

God give me a child
A child to bear my name,
A child I will give
Everything I’ve gained.

God give us a child
Something isn’t right,
I heard my wife crying
For a child the other night.

God give us a child
To teach all I have learned,
And build a kingdom for
With all that I will earn.
