Forget about tomorrow

I need to hit the sack
The day is barely done,
But this is why I did it
So I could have some fun.

I smiled for a moment
The day’s deeds all completed
I forgot about tomorrow
The deeds must be repeated.

The dark seems promising
Maybe there’s a place,
Where I won’t see the sunrise
And I won’t be in the race.

I think the room went blank
Or I closed my eyes,
I woke up lying down
I didn’t realise.

I was too late to the game
Too many laps to run,
There is no prize for me
Even though I’ve won.
