FLD Resurrection. The Second Coming. Day 5
The train is moving through the cold morning, and my thumb burns as I type on my phone. Pins and needles harrass my fingers. I can smell the leather of my stiff jacket and my belt feels looser around my waist. The backpack between my legs is full of empty Tupperware boxes. I’ve eaten all of the food they contained. I’ve had far more calories than I planned to, but made a little progress nonetheless.
Today is my day off. I’m allowing myself whatever food and drink I desire, yet I didn't have any breakfast. I like days sans a morning meal. Even if that’s all I’ve changed since Monday, I’m traveling in the right direction. Small consistent change nearly always goes farther than sporadic leaps and bounds.
I want to start eating eggs again. I miss them, and they’re one of the most nutritious foods. When I’m back on the milkshakes I can have an omelette in the evening. It's supposed to be three milkshakes and a small meal. Occasionally I made do with two milkshakes and a small meal but I never wanted to eat more than a thousand calories a day. Most of us underestimate the amount of calories in our food. A slice of white bread has around 70 calories. Add some butter and it's about 170 calories. You could add some jam and take it well over 200 calories. 200 calories in a slice of bread with jam and butter! With a thousand calorie limit, you’d be allowed…
