Fat Loss Diary — Day 4
I entered a few prompts into Unslpash to find an image for this article; ‘wagon’, ‘mistake’, ‘peaks’. Nothing seemed to fit. Then I tried ‘bounce’ and got the tennis ball above. My weight bounced this morning. I stepped on the scales to be informed that I’m 2kg heavier than I was yesterday morning. That’s a big bounce. I saw it coming and tried to avert my gaze.
Yesterday I was feeling fantastic, I’d lost 3kg in 2 days. My shoulders and my back were more defined than they had been at the start of the week. The waist on my trousers was looser. There was no doubt that I was already off to a great start. I’d already lost a noticeable amount of fat.
The weather was good, so we had a barbeque in the evening. By the time I went to bed, I’d consumed three burgers and had a lot to drink. I thought I might be a kilo heavier in the morning. I braced myself before stepping on the scales, but I wasn’t prepared for a two kilogram increase. It took the wind out of my sails a little.
Typing these numbers makes me wonder what weight loss is like for everybody else. I base my expectations on past experiences. My first experience of successful weight loss was 4kg in the first week. Since then I’ve always monitored my weight in kilograms, and when dieting I expect to see the changes in kilograms as well. I expect to lose at least a couple of kilograms a week. Any less…
