Erase my history
They don’t know what’s wrong with me
Because all I do is shout
The volume is irrelevant
It’s what I talk about.
I could be whispering
Or praying in a song
They’d say it’s all aggression
Because I dare to say they’re wrong.
They want me to be silent
Deny their duplicity
Then sing the world their anthem
Whilst they murder me.
They tell the world they long for love
But all I want is hate
They plan to keep the world asleep
Until they seal my fate.
They would erase my history
Make me disappear
And tell their children mine is theirs
That I was never here.
The world must dare not name the sins
Nor the lives they’ve taken
They hope to wipe me from the map
Though their fathers were forsaken.
