As If I Get To Choose

I didn’t mean to say that
I wasn't really thinking,
I’m not really in control
Because I’ve been drinking.

Because it helps me to let go
Frees me from my senses,
Helps me laugh into the faces of
Bloody consequences.

And I feel good about it
Even if I lose,
Because I’ve been drinking
I have the balls to choose.

I’m lost in lusting liberty
As is sobriety,
Along with all those boundaries
That don’t appeal to me.

So I choose the freedom
Not to give a damn,
To live as if I get to choose
For as long as I still can.
