A little girl

Thousands of people lose their land
Because settlers want their homes,
But there is war in Europe
So their story will not be shown.

A little girl is beaten
By soldiers with sticks and guns,
You’ll see someone on the news tonight
But she will not be the one.

Children are jailed and tortured
Their homes raided at night,
The invaders decide the people
Are better killed and out of sight.

Shoot them as they kneel in prayer
Make them live in Hell,
Exploit the past for immunity
Assassinate those who tell.

This all goes through the courts
Of a country which ignores,
The irony of its history
And international law.
