21st Century Christmas. How did we get here?

What on earth, or in heaven, is Christmas really about? Nobody seems to know. It’s about Christian values (whoever can tell me what they are) and loving thy neighbour and peace on earth, but I don’t see any of that in practice.

It’s about Jesus, I get that bit. But he was probably born in April, and Christmas is meant to be his birthday, but it’s in December. That’s where snow came into the picture. A smart Christian marketing man decided to move the birth of Christ to December. It’s unlikely that Jesus ever saw any snow, he was born in Palestine. I don’t think he’d like what Israel has done to his home. I hope he doesn’t come back anytime soon, the IDF has upset enough people already, they probably don’t want to contend with the son of God.

Along with snow, there are Christmas trees, flying reindeer, and Santa. I bet a survey of people celebrating Christmas would show that many of them think Santa is the son of God or a central religious figure. I can see why that might be the case.

Here’s what I think might have happened. Jesus was walking through the desert and he saw a whole load of reindeer. They looked completely out of place in the desert, because they’d never been there before. Figuring out that the reindeer must be lost, Christ took pity and gave them the ability to fly.
